The Whitehaven Academy takes part in BBC Children In Need

On Friday 18th November, students and staff at The Whitehaven Academy took part in a variety of events to raise funds for Children in Need. The events were been organised by a group of Year 9 students and included a Dress-down day, Dodgeball competition, Fun Run, Bake Sale, Market and Raffle. The highlight of the day’s events took place at lunchtime, when brave staff volunteered to have wet sponges thrown at them, despite the inclement weather! Students paid a donation for each sponge thrown and all staff left the ‘target area’ looking very wet and cold.

It was an exceptionally enjoyable day and we have raised £703 for this fantastic charity. Well done to Mr Campbell and our Year 9 students Chloe Dodd, Emma Jennings, Jordan Toman, Finn Docherty, Alfie Jarvis, Josh Parr, Mason Hogg, Shaun Witton, Eden Branney, Jack Fitzpatrick, Mya McGuire, Morgan Ann Elliot, Jasmine Ellwood, Ella Watson, Tyler Chambers and Ella Templeton for organising such a brilliant day!
