Year 8, maths students took part in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust competition earlier this year.
20 of our year 8 students took part in the Nationwide Junior Challenge, which is aimed at pupils in Year 8 or below in England and Wales. The challenge involves answering 25 multiple choice questions in one hour and is sat in school under normal exam conditions.
The top 40% of students nationally receive a gold, silver or bronze certificate in the ratio 1:2:3 and each year group receives a Best in Year certificate.
Certificates were received by Tyler Chambers; Bronze Award, Francesca Parsley; Bronze Award, Joshua Parr; Bronze Award, Emma Jennings; Silver Award and Best in Year, Matthew Chambers; Bronze Award.
