Congratulation to the year 10 girls for successfully completing their Duke of Edinburgh training expedition recently. This involved planning their route for both days and an over night camp, carrying all their personal food and equipment.
The girls navigated from Muncaster along the coast to Ravenglass and then back inland towards Gosfoth, where they cooked their evening meal and camped for the night.
Day two, was another long day back towards the coast, then to Calbeck via Seascale. Overall they walked around 18 miles and should be very proud of themselves. The team consisted of; Evie Balance, Zoe Bell, Leah Bennett, Casey Brown, Cora Haraldson, Chloe Holden, Rachel McConnell, Emilia Murphy, Bethany Robinson, Niamh Ross, Alice Stephenson and Amber Strawbridge. Mr C Burkinshaw, Mrs D Burkinshaw and special thanks goes to Debs Carter from the Harbour Project for organising this event.
Well done again. Looking forward to the Final Expedition in July.
