Recently Craig Ivison, Vice Principal was invited, along with a number of employers and partners, to judge the GEN2 Apprenticeship Awards as part of National Apprenticeship Week. The awards focused on the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the Apprentices as well as recognising their involvement with the local community.
He judged the engineering sculpture competition (photo above of a mini solar space station). Each team had a budget of £100 and 2 weeks to produce their sculpture. The talent and enthusiasm displayed by young people from across GEN2 sites in Workington, Carlisle and Ulverston were inspiring and they have been invited to bring some of the entries into the Academy.
