The year 5 taster day was a great success, pupils from local primary schools attended the academy and had a wonderful day.
Pupils were given a taste of life at the academy and took part in a whole range of activities throughout the course of the day.
- Innovative enterprise – a challenge that shows learning can be fun. Pupils will take part in an ‘Apprentice’ style challenge to design, make and sell their own product.
- Manchester Giants – an opportunity for pupils to take part in training sessions and coaching with the Manchester Giants professional basketball team.
- Animal magic – pupils will meet exotic animals such as snakes, birds of prey and llamas, and learn about their habitats, eating habits and how to care for them.
- Interactive science show
Philip Grant, Principal of the academy commented: “We very much enjoyed welcoming primary pupils into the academy and giving them a fun day packed full of really interesting activities. It was great for us to be able to show off the academy and what we can offer pupils and I hope that we’ll have the privilege of teaching lots of these pupils in the future.”
