Going green

We have implemented a new printing solution which improves print quality, saves time and is more energy efficient and our new printers default to black and white and double sided so we use less ink and paper.

The solution not only provides these great benefits to staff and the school, it means we are also helping to support a number of community projects; our supplier calculates the carbon footprint of our printers and then offsets these costs by supporting a selection of projects, most notably the Kenyan Energy Efficient Stove Project.

The Kenyan Energy Efficient Stove Project builds energy saving cooking stoves for villages in Kenya which replace the use of open fires for cooking and provide a good balance between cost, life expectancy and efficiency, whilst reducing the amount of firewood used. The locals also gain considerable benefits such as reduced costs and improved health and safety.
