Acting Principal, Ms Smith, announces her resignation

Ms Smith has today announced that she will be leaving the academy:

“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of my decision to resign from the position of Acting Principal at the Whitehaven Academy with effect from 31 December 2014.

The Governors are in the process of recruiting a new Principal and will be keeping you informed of progress. I will of course be working with the staff and governors to ensure a smooth transition.

I feel so very privileged to have been given the opportunity to serve the Whitehaven community for the last 16 years and reflect on my time as a teacher with both a smile and a strong sense of gratitude.

I am thankful to the governors of the [former] school and to Bright Tribe Trust for giving me such wonderful opportunities. I am thankful to the staff for all their very hard work and continued support. I am thankful to you for supporting me and keeping me on task, but most of all I am thankful to all the students past and present who have made my teaching career much, much more than a job.

I will miss you all and I look forward to seeing the continued success of both the academy and all those who work within it.”

We’re sure you will all join us in wishing Ms Smith well for the future and thanking her for everything she has done for the academy.
